Friend, let me start off by telling you that it is no mistake that you were born here, and now. It was not a mistake that you were born with the character traits that you have or the personality that you have. It makes no difference if you think you should be different or not. You were created by the Almighty God, and when he looked at you in your mother’s womb he said “It is good.” Whether your parents tried for years to have you or if they didn’t want you at all, God knows every single thing about you and he made it all for a purpose! You have a purpose.
Now is not the time for mediocre Christianity. Now is not the time where you can spend five minutes a day, or an hour on Sunday morning with God and expect to see a breakthrough in your life and in others. That has never been an option, but it’s so much more evident in the here and now. The world is in absolute chaos. I don’t know if you have noticed that or not but it is. Everything is up for debate, everyone’s feelings are now truth, there doesn’t seem to be any moral compass any longer. We are now supposed to be led by your hurt feelings. Friends praise the Lord we are in this world but we are not of it! We get to live above being tossed too and fro by our every whim. We have a beacon of truth that is never changing and always right! Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man that he should lie…” yes! We have the word of Almighty God to lead and guide every single aspect of our lives and he will never lie to us! If the word says it, you can take it to the bank! Praise God.
At this point, the religious spirit in you may be flaring and you’re likely thinking things along the lines of, “Well Sarah, my grandmother loved the Lord with all her heart and she died of Cancer. We prayed for her healing for years and it never happened.” That would be categorized in your n=book of experiences. I’m in no way trying to belittle your experience. I am however telling you that despite your experience God is still our healer. We need to adjust our thinking to stop placing the blame on God every time our life, or the lives of those around us doesn’t line up with the word. If you are praying for someone to be healed and it isn’t happening then you need to get back in your word and build your faith. Because the bible says that we will lay hands on the sick and they WILL recover. It starts by saying those who BELIEVE. So if it isn’t happening then there is likely doubt in the camp, or you’re not living a righteous life and you need to adjust how your living. The blame NEVER, I will repeat that for those in the back, the blame is NEVER on the Lord. Self-reflection is a great thing.
We are called, commanded really, to walk in the power of the Lord. We are called to be as Jesus is (1 John 4:17). He has given us ALL authority because he is always with us. (Matthew 28:18-20) With that authority is the command to go and make disciples.
Mark 16:15-20 says that not only are we to go and make disciples but that these signs will follow us. In His name, we will cast out devils. This is one that just isn’t talked about in the body of Christ. We shout freedom, we shout liberty. we shout victory but we never actually do anything to achieve it. So you come to church on Sunday, sit under the presence of the lord (hopefully your church has the anointing) feel great in service, and then leave to struggle with the same battles all week long! You’re in bondage, my friend! That not liberty! The enemy has you in bondage and you’re being told from the pulpit that you just need to kill your flesh. I want to tell you right now that if you’re dealing with overwhelming thoughts of any kind, lustful, harmful, suicidal, cutting, obsessive thoughts, if you suffer from bipolar, schizophrenia, or any other disorder it is highly likely that you have a demon/spirit tormenting you. Most pastors are too ignorant and will send you on your merry way to try and defeat it on your own. You can’t “kill” a demon, you have to cast it out. Just like you can’t cast out your flesh you have to kill it. You have to know your enemy, otherwise, you will spend your entire life fighting the wrong battle and always feeling defeated when the bible tells you, you have victory.
You are here for such a time as this. For freedom in Jesus’ name! I am telling you right now, this power will not function in your life if you have pet sins hanging around. We are called to be holy! Our cross to bear is not a sickness, it’s not “the struggle is real”, it isn’t anything that simply happens to us in life. A cross that you bear is something you can choose to pick up. We choose to pick up the cross of self-sacrifice and follow HIM. That means choosing your comfort, your selfish ambition, your plans, you don’t matter. God’s plan matters. God’s will and his ways are what we chase after. If that means getting up an hour earlier so you can pray for 30 minutes and read for 30 min, then do it! Don’t allow your flesh to be your god.
There are certain things that we do to show our flesh that it is not in control, our spirit is. Fasting and prayer is a huge one. If you don’t fast, ever, then you’re walking in disobedience. The bible doesn’t say “if” you fast, it says “when” you fast. When you fast you are not allowing your stomach to dictate your life. You are telling your stomach, “You are not my god.”
If you have anything in your life that dictates when and how you will be doing things, you’re in bondage to a little god that is not the Almighty God. Example: cigarettes, vaping, weed, eating too much, having an unshakable schedule. If you love life on such a tight schedule that you don’t allow the Holy Spirit to wreck your morning, or God to move you to talk to someone about salvation, then you are in bondage to your schedule.
God deserves all of you or none of you. You can no longer sit on the fence and pretend you’re walking in the light. There actually is no grey area in the kingdom of God. 1 john 1:5 God is light and in Him, there is no darkness at all! None! In order for something to be grey, it has to have a little darkness. Therefore it is not of God. You can’t have one foot in and one foot out. God says that if you do that, if you sit on the fence trying to decide if you want to be all in, then he will spit you out of his mouth. You run the risk of dying, and standing before the Lord for him to say “I NEVER knew you!” Don’t take that chance! Be all in. Get your life in order and call on someone that can cast any demons out of your life that may be there. Deliverance is as much the children’s bread as salvation is. Don’t allow your lack of biblical knowledge to keep you, or anyone around you, in bondage any longer!
“My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge…” Hosea 4:1
